How to make your own delicious homemade trail mix oatmeal cookies**

While the best way to enjoy organic trail mix is to simply snack on the trail mix directly, you can also go beyond that and incorporate trail mix into your favorite recipes. One excellent way to upgrade your trail mix is to use it to make soft, chewy oatmeal cookies full of nutty and fruity goodness.

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the wheat flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and pink Himalayan salt and whisk together until thoroughly combined.
  2. Using a food processor, cream the butter for half a minute. Add the sugar and mix both ingredients for 1-2 minutes or until the mixture reaches a light and fluffy consistency. Keep scraping the mixture from the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Add the egg to the butter and sugar mixture and beat on medium-to-low speed until thoroughly incorporated.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and maple syrup to the mixture and beat on low speed until thoroughly incorporated.
  5. Slowly add in the mixture of dry ingredients to the wet ingredients while continuing to beat on low speed. Stop as soon as the dry ingredients are fully incorporated.
  6. Use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to stir in the rolled oats and trail mix by hand until evenly distributed.
  7. Take 2 tablespoons of cookie dough and shape into a ball roughly 1½ inches across. Repeat this process until all the cookie dough has been turned into balls.
  8. Place the cookie dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 9 minutes.
  9. Once baked, allow the cookies to cool, then enjoy!
